Is the Juiceman Juicer Worth The Money?

I bought a Juiceman juicer a few years ago after watching Jay Kordich’s infomercial a couple of times. The first time I saw it I felt it was just another hyped product that was probably not very good but I was intrigued by the potential health benefits of drinking fresh juice.

As I checked into juicing I was surprised by the glowing testimonials for the Juiceman so I went to a local department store and bought one thinking I would take it back if I didn’t like it. I was impressed with the quality and power of the unit as well as how easy it was to make juice and clean up.

Soon my wife and I had a daily routine where we would make a nice glass of carrot and tomato juice every morning. At first I thought it was going to be one of those situations where something tastes bad but you drink it anyway because it’s good for you. Boy was I surprised as the carrots gave the juice a nice sweet taste that wasn’t bad at all.

We were soon trying different vegetable and fruit juices and we looked forward to seeing how a new combination would taste. Most of them were pretty good and we really liked our special apple juice blend.

The latest Juiceman product is the Juiceman II Elite Juicer and it is more powerful than previous models. It features two speeds: low for soft fruit and high for harder produce like carrots or apples. The powerful, yet quiet, ½ horsepower motor makes quick work of the toughest, stringiest fruits and vegetables.

It has an extra large feed tube for big pieces and the pulp is automatically ejected into a basket so you don’t have to stop to clean it. You can even use a plastic grocery bag as a liner to keep the basket from getting dirty to save clean-up time. It also has a nice safety feature which keeps the unit from being turned on if the juicer is not correctly assembled.

Because of the powerful motor you can easily juice skins and rinds along with the flesh which means less cutting, peeling and waste. Most people don’t know that most of the nutrients are found in the skins and rinds so using them just enhances the health benefits of the juice.

It has a micro mesh screen to keep the juice pulp and fiber free and cleanup is quick and easy. Just rinse the parts off and you’re done and the small footprint means it doesn’t take up much counter space so you are more likely to use it than if it were stored in a cabinet.

I still own that juicer and feel it was a very worthwhile investment. The Salton company bought the rights to the Juiceman product several years ago and now manufactures and distributes it. It still gets good reviews but one website stopped selling it as they felt the current Juiceman juicers were not as good as previous models so do a little research before making a buying decision.
